Writing about myself has never been an easy thing for me to do, but I'll do my best!
I was born in Dallas, TX and moved to Texarkana when I was 2 years old so you could say I'm a native of this great twin city. I attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and graduated with a major in Political Science and a minor in Legal Studies. My plan was to become a lawyer, and I even spent a summer in college in Washington, D.C. interning at a lobbyist firm. I graduated from the U of A and returned to Texarkana in which I began working and decided going back to get my law degree was actually not what I wanted. I spent the next 11 years in the sales and management fields, and I was good at it! I began to realize I needed more...I wanted more! So came my many years in the fashion industry which has transitioned over into the design industry. After owning a local boutique, working for three amazing fashion companies, flying to New York to work directly with design teams, and styling so many amazing women, I landed on design and real estate.
I absolutely LOVE design. The creative outlet it allows me is simply what my brain and soul needs. I am actually quite business minded as I love a schedule, a checklist and goals. But, I also get bored easily so creating something beautiful and functional is what truly keeps me excited to go to work everyday. Some have called me a style virtuoso which I believe is one of the highest compliments I've ever received. It's my specialty, I believe. Of course, I have my own particular style but what I love about design is that there are so many styles and none of them are wrong (if they are executed correctly, obviously). I love listening to my clients and learning about their own personal style and then incorporating my design ideas with their style. It creates a wonderful marriage between myself and my clients, and it gives them the space they will truly love for a very long time. To keep my business mind fed, I also obtained my real estate license in Texas and Arkansas so that I could help my clients who did not want to build from the ground up, find a home to be remodeled to their needs. I know the value in design and architecture which has proven an asset in selling homes for my clients as well.
My drive definitely comes from my two amazing children, Presley and Hudson. They inspire me everyday to become the best I can be. I always want them to know that if you work hard enough, if you're determined enough, and you pray all the time, you can do anything you set out to do. I want them to see an example of that in me every single day! I believe very much in God given talents and that it is up to us to accept the gift, nourish it and train it just as we do our children. Now that you know a little about me, if you think I'd be a good fit for your design project, give me a call!
